Advanced PDF Capabilities

 

CentraDoc’s advanced PDF capabilities are more than just standard PDF rendering. While it is fully capable of high quality rendering as baseline functionality, CentraDoc’s PDF interface allows for complex PDF workflows to accommodate nearly anything our customers require. From content creation and page level manipulation, graphic and text extraction, to advanced annotations and markups, stamping, signing and forms management, CentraDoc PDF has been designed for the most demanding PDF workflows. High-Fidelity Rendering (RIP)

​

• Precision Rendering: High quality anti-aliased rendering (RIP).

• Scalability: Arbitrary Resolution: from thumbnail size up to very large format printing.

• Color Management: Support for 8 or 16 bits per component. Advanced Color Spaces and Color Management: RGBA, CMYK, Arbitrary Separations and DeviceN, embedded and external ICC profiles.

• Transparency Logic: Full support for the PDF transparency model, with blend modes, overprint, and transfer functions.

• Flexible Output: Generate raw pixels with optional alpha channel or easily export into JPEG, DIB, TIFF and Multipage TIFF formats.

• Performance: High performance multithreaded rendering, per page or per band.

Document Workflow, Forms & Annotation

• Advanced Markup: Extensive support for markup and other annotations. This includes markup Import and export features similar to the BlueBeam Revu® product. Annotations can be imported and exported in FDF, XFDF, and custom formats.

• Dynamic Stamping: Document stamping allows you to place custom graphics with text substitutions directly on the page or inside an annotation. This supports FDF/XFDF, PDF and JSON formats for stamp graphics. You can provide callback or lookup tables for text substitutions to automate page numbering or document certification and production.

• Form Management: Form creation, filling, and data collection. Create PDFs with AcroForm fields and import or Export field values via FDF.

• XFA/XFAF Support: Extensive rendering support for XFA/XFAF (XML in PDF) documents , including conversion to AcroForm fields for wider document compatibility.

Content Extraction & Modification

• Document Creation: High level API for document creation with extensive support for PDF features.

• Deep Access: Full access to PDF content. Access PDF portfolios, embedded images and other embedded files. Create simple text files from PDF pages for data extraction.

• Manipulation: Copy pages between PDFs. We also offer potential conversions to other drawing file formats via extendable driver interface.

Security, Compliance & Accessibility

• Digital Trust: PDF Encryption, Digital Signatures and Trust. Digital signature validation: modification detection and certificate trust verification. Create PDFs with digital signatures.

• Encryption: Add or remove password security. Full read and write support of PDF AES password security models.

• Archival Standards: Produce PDF/A, PDF/E, and PDF/UA file formats with format markers.

• Accessibility (Section 508): Full support for reading and writing tagged PDFs (PDF/UA).

Integration & Architecture

• Core Foundation: CentraDoc is primarily class-based C code with C++ wrappers (via custom IDL). The AntiGrain pixel rendering library is heavily templated C++.

• Modern Wrappers: Custom C# APIs for .NET integration alongside a custom Python API (via Cython) for rapid development and deployment.
